El Ardagh Group y Duerr's have received the Best Packaging Design award its jar citrus fruits at the World Food Innovation Awards, organized by FoodBev Media.
The product stands out for the innovation of its design and the elaborate details of the texture of the jar.
Ardagh designers received specific instructions from Duerr's to develop a totally unique jar that had the look and feel of a citrus fruit. The project was fraught with technical challenges, creating an amazing, tactile "citrus" jar, in the right size and scale, and mimicking the effect of the peel.
This new packaging also has a second use. When the product runs out, it can be reused as a candle holder or cocktail glass, for example.
A good example of originality and eco-friendly design.
