Heidelberg increases after-tax net income in its third quarter

February 13th 2017

After the third quarter of financial year 2016/2017, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) stay in line to increase your annual profit as planned.

During the third quarter (from October 1 to December 31, 2016), the operating result (EBITDA) and the net result after taxes improved markedly compared to the same quarter of the previous year, and sales after nine months, as expected, they were still below the levels of the previous year. Drupa brought in a large number of orders for innovative printing equipment and the delivery plan for these equipment will be during the fourth quarter. The serial delivery of these products at the end of the year will also generate higher sales and improve the result in reference to the previous year.

"The improvements in third quarter results show that Heidelberg is on the right track to achieve sustainable profitability," said Rainer Hundsdörfer, CEO of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. "We anticipate that we will further increase our annual profit with a strong final quarter."

New organization oriented to digital transformation
Heidelberg is realigning its organization to accelerate the company's digital transformation and thereby ensure that the right business models are in a position to access high-growth customer segments for years to come.

In the future, there will be a division that will develop, manufacture and supply technologies and digital products suitable for new business models. Another division will design and market these models. On the other hand, the global sales and service network will be more strongly focused on the digital challenges facing the market.
