Training is the key to producing future professionals who not only know the principles and history of graphic arts, but also have firsthand experience of the current market. Heidelberg collaborates with the graphic arts industry by providing specific training.
From the Training and Employment Committee of NeobisThe Graphic Communication Association, a collaborative space where representatives from companies, training centers, and suppliers work together, has taken the initiative to begin a series of training sessions for teachers in schools throughout Spain. The first session, held last Tuesday, May 26th, in the Postpress Packaging classroom of Heidelberg In Tajamar, he was in charge of Jose Manuel Huertas, a Prinect specialist, who guided attendees through a comprehensive session focused on Prinect Production Manager, Heidelberg's intelligent and integrated workflow system for the graphic arts industry.
On behalf of Neobis, he attended Sara Gómez as general organizer; representing Tajamar, José Antonio Rodríguez Mendiguchía, and Sara Perez from Heidelberg Spain, as coordinator of the event.
In the first part, which was technical in nature, José Manuel Huertas gave a detailed overview of each of the software modules that make up the Prinect Production Manager workflow. This workflow allows for the end-to-end integration of all production processes in a graphic arts workshop, providing unified, automated, and highly efficient management.
During this presentation, advanced solutions were discussed, including the web portal for order management, Smart Automation-based workflows, PDF editing tools using PDF Toolbox, and imposition capabilities for both retail and packaging environments with Signa Station and Signa Pack Pro. Key modules such as production planning and optimization, color management with Color Toolbox, certified color rendering and proofing, and process integration under JDF standards were also analyzed.
Of particular relevance was the explanation of automation under the Push to Stop concept, applicable to both offset and digital printing environments and post-printing processes, allowing for a reduction in manual intervention and significantly improving the productivity and consistency of the processes.
In the second part of the day, which was more practical, comprehensive demonstrations of various real-world scenarios were conducted: a sales project, a packaging project, and examples of integrated process automation. Attendees were able to see key tools in action, such as PDF Toolbox, Color Toolbox, and the integration of workflows from ERP (RP) systems using JDF.
The session concluded with a presentation of Print Shop Analytics, Heidelberg's cloud-based software designed for real-time data analysis. This solution allows printing companies to improve plant productivity, benchmark themselves against other printing companies with similar equipment, and, thanks to the integration of Heidelberg AI, intelligently access any indicator relevant to decision-making.
