Hinojosa presents its sustainable proposals

February 11th 2020

Hinojosa's portfolio of primary packaging for the food sector, in addition to reducing single-use plastic and improving its recyclability, contributes to extending the useful life of food, and, therefore, reducing food waste.
Hinojosa attends Pick & Pack with its sustainable proposals, such as Halopack by Hinojosa, Hi-Liner and Cartoskin containers. Focused to contain fresh products that allow the food to be vacuum sealed on the cardboard tray or the griddle.
Specifically, Halopack by Hinojosa is a sustainable and recyclable packaging system that reduces the use of single-use plastics by up to 90%. The remaining 10% is the film that insulates the food it contains and is applied with heat, without glue, so it is easily separated from the cardboard and can also be recycled.
For its part, Hi-liner, is a container made from a thermoformable (flexible) paper that the customer can shape in their facilities with their own machines. This system has 71% less environmental impact than traditional trays because it requires less energy to manufacture its raw material, and because it can be recycled as paper in many European countries.
Cartoskin is a packaging solution made up of a 100% recyclable flat cardboard tray and two plastic sheets that protect the product. The different materials that make up this container are totally separable, which facilitates recycling. This system reduces single-use plastic by up to 80%.
In addition, Hinojosa will also speak at Pick & Pack about its packaging systems for Take Away products, prepared food and fruit tubs made from FSC certified cardboard or recycled fiber.
