HP has unveiled the new at FESPA HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Plus Edition printer seriesThis marks a new step in the evolution of HP's large-format printing portfolio. Designed for small and medium-sized businesses, including photo studios, retailers, copy shops, educational institutions, and architectural firms, the new series combines high image quality and streamlined workflows on a unified platform. This launch reinforces HP's momentum in large-format printing, including ongoing innovation in workflow automation through HP PrintOS Production Hub and the growing customer adoption of the HP Latex FS70 W.
Based on a proven platform with more than 40.000 units installed worldwide, the new printers combine the strengths of the previous HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9 printers to expand access to professional photo-quality results across a wide range of industries.
“Today, printing companies need to do more with less: faster turnaround times, broader applications, and consistent quality,” he stated. Daniel Martinez, senior vice president and president of HP's large format printing division“The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Plus Edition printer series is designed to deliver the precision, quality, and productivity that customers need to grow profitably.”
A single platform designed to offer image quality, productivity, and simplicity
The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ Plus Edition printers are designed for applications ranging from professional photography and retail graphics to posters and technical printing. Thanks to HP Pixel Control technology and HP Vivid Photo inks, these printers produce sharp details, smooth gradations, and water- and fade-resistant prints. HP's dual-drop technology also enables high-quality results without the need for clear inks, helping to maintain productivity across multiple media types.
The HP DesignJet Z9⁺ Plus Edition printer is designed for color-critical applications such as professional photography and high-end graphics. It also features a built-in spectrophotometer to ensure consistent color calibration and the optional HP Gloss Enhancer for greater brightness uniformity.
New productivity printing modes can increase throughput by up to 90%, while dual roll support, automatic roll switching, and an integrated vertical cutter help reduce manual intervention and post-processing times.
The printers also integrate with the HP Click app and driver, helping users simplify file preparation and reduce reprints, while HP Wolf Pro Security helps protect devices, data, and printing workflows.
The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript® Plus Edition printer series will be available starting June 22, 2026.
The new features in HP PrintOS Production Hub continue to optimize and simplify workflows
HP PrintOS Production Hub — the only large-format software that integrates order management, job preparation, and remote print control into a single connected workflow — continues to evolve with new features designed to eliminate friction at every stage of print production.
Managing customer communication during the pre-production phase has traditionally been a major bottleneck for print service providers (PSPs). The new order approval feature allows customers to review, request changes, and approve jobs directly from the platform, helping to streamline approvals, reduce errors, and improve visibility across the PSP's organization.
The new Orders API allows integration with CRM, ERP, MIS and accounting systems, reducing manual data entry and improving workflow traceability.
Production Hub's new "AI Upscale Image" feature uses AI to enhance low-resolution images during file preparation, helping to reduce reprints and manual corrections to simplify the process and make it more accessible.
Taken together, these new features reinforce HP's commitment to helping print service providers (PSPs) of any size operate in more connected, efficient, and scalable printing environments.
