HP launches its new high speed digital press for corrugated cardboard post printing, the press HP PageWide C550. Based on the technology of the C500, the press C550 offers greater productivity and value to the sector of the industrial packaging. Use the HP thermal inkjet technology and water-based inks to deliver consistent print quality at fast production speeds, while supporting the circular economy goals of packaging converters.
With a speed of 90 linear meters per minute, the C550 press is capable of producing high quality flexo and lithographic boxes at a constant speed no slowdowns. It will also help converters to optimize inventories, reduce obsolescence and speed delivery times thanks to digital printing technology.
Saica Group, a specialist in corrugated cardboard packaging, has ordered the C550 for its operations in Viana (Spain). The press will be installed at the end of this year and will increase the capacity of the plant for the production of corrugated cardboard containers.
HP has recently collaborated with Hybrid Software in the development of a workflow of prepress for packaging in order to facilitate the transition of artwork from lithographic and flexographic formats.
