Plant International paper In the town of Villalbilla (Madrid), specialized in the production fiber-based renewable packaging, has received an investment of 3.6 million euros in order to improve the capabilities and services offered by the company
With this investment, the factory has acquired a new production line to improve and expand its services to e-commerce and also the industrial sector. The new line has already been installed and has begun to operate efficiently, which has allowed the creation of six new jobs.
The amount allocated to International Paper Villalbilla is part of an investment program throughout the EMEA region (35 million euros in total) with a commitment to Spain, where 15 million euros have been allocated to acquire new conversion equipment in several of its corrugated cardboard packaging plants to improve the positioning of the company in the national territory.
The Madrid plant celebrates 10 years since its opening and has around 150 employees. Its main clients are e-commerce, the textile industry, the fruit and vegetable sector, and the food and beverage sector.
In addition to this investment in Villalbilla, International Paper has allocated another 5 million euros to its plant Griñón, located in the southern municipality of Madrid. In this case, the investment has been used for the acquisition of two new machines that include: a new flat die-cutter, a new multipoint gluer and 2 modernizations of existing multipoint gluers. In the region, the company also has a recycled paper factory for corrugated cardboard, Madrid Mill, located in Fuenlabrada.
As part of their Vision 2030 goals, The multinational has set out to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy in all its Spanish factories.
International Paper, Present in Spain since 1962, it has a recycled paper factory on the Iberian Peninsula with associated recycling operations (CARPA) and 11 packaging plants.
