BCN Design Week will be held from June 11 to 21 in Barcelona

Under the slogan "Design Vision 2050", this 8th edition opens to the city with new activities aimed at the general public.
The annual event framed in the field of design, innovation and entrepreneurship, organized by BCD Barcelona Centro de Diseño, is an international event that annually brings together professionals, companies and entities from any productive or service sector that have knowledge as a driving force. and creativity.

This year's program aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities between companies and professionals, bring design closer to the general public and project the Barcelona brand in the world linked to concepts such as creativity, design, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Among its more than 70 activities, the Congress "Leading businesses towards 2050" stands out, with the participation of internationally renowned experts; the EcoDesign Day; the MID Design Investment Forum; the BDW Pecha Kucha Design Night; the third edition of the Guest Country, which is the Netherlands; the Design Services Market; the session "Discover Crowdfunding!"; the BDW Kids workshops; the BDW Circuits (itineraries with visits to various points in the city's design sector; the BDW Labs (activities on different themes aimed at the general public organized by design service companies), as well as various exhibitions.

 

At the “Leading businesses towards 2050” Congress, various design visions will be announced around key areas such as health, habitat or consumption, in order to intuit what will happen in 2050. One of its objectives is define the role of design as a contributor to this future, for which experts such as Laura Lee, architect and professor of architecture at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA) will participate; Oscar Peña, Global Creative Director, Product and User Experience Design at Philips Lighting Design; Lorna Ross, director of the design group at the Center for Innovation at the Mayo Clinic; Jan Willem Sieburgh, entrepreneur, independent consultant and coach, and Nandu Jubany, cook and owner of Can Jubany.

 

On the other hand, BCN Design Week has for the first time an OFF BDW program that includes 40 parallel activities organized by companies, entities and other agents of the city.

 

With the eighth edition, this event is consolidated as the reference appointment for design and business in Barcelona, ​​and one of the most important in the international arena.
