Morning Book, an innovative product designed to improve digestive and immune well-being, has arrived on the European market, with the collaboration of the Portuguese Society for Innovation in Microbiome and Probiotics (SPIMP). Developed by Lactogal, Matinal Livre is the first drink in Europe that includes postbiotics in an aseptic dairy product at room temperature, using the Tetra Pak Aseptic UHT Process to avoid the need for refrigeration.
Matinal Livre integrates bifidobacteria through an aseptic UHT process. Bifidobacteria are a group of probiotic bacteria that promote the balance of the microbiota, essential for healthy digestion. The UHT treatment preserves the beneficial properties of the product without the need for refrigeration. This lactose-free product is packaged in Tetra Stelo® Aseptic, a lightweight, recyclable, FSC®-certified container made from cardboard from responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources.
Catarina Ribeiro CruzMatinal's brand development manager comments: “This launch is the result of extensive research and collaboration with a team of experts, reflecting a significant investment in technological development. Matinal Livre anticipates the future of milk, offering unique characteristics and responding to the growing demand for healthier products. It highlights the brand's premium positioning, bringing true innovation and new added value to the category.”
José Miguel Martins Raimundo, SPIMP President, comments: “In collaboration with Matinal Livre, we are highlighting the importance of the health of the intestinal microbiome. This innovative product reinforces Portugal’s leadership in European dairy innovation, leveraging the benefits of the postbiotic Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347 for digestive well-being.”
Chakib Kara, Tetra Pak Iberia CEO, expresses his enthusiasm for the project: “We are proud to support Lactogal to meet market demands with innovative aseptic carton packaging solutions. Tetra Stelo® Aseptic2 combines quality, convenience and sustainability, aligning with consumer expectations for responsibly sourced materials.”
