Metsä Board will focus on meeting the demand for sustainable carton packaging. Mikko Helander, CEO of Metsä Board, the leading producer of forest fiber board, maker of white-top kraftliner coated paper and a major paper supplier, spoke at Drupa on the company's strategy to focus again on board : a sustainable and lightweight packaging material. Metsä Board has increased its cardboard production capacity from 150.000 tons per year to 935.000 tons by investing in three cardboard factories in Finland. Currently, the cardboard production capacity of the Metsä Board, including the Kemi factory, amounts to 1,31 million tonnes per year.
