covers launched MonoFlex Fiber, a range of flexible packaging paper that can be recycled in existing paper containers. It is ideal for brands in different sectors, such as dry foods, tea, sweets, fresh products, frozen products, etc.
“As part of our zero waste strategy, Coveris is focused on selecting the most eco-efficient and high-performing packaging for each product, rather than simply deciding between paper or plastic. By expanding our product portfolio with paper options and reducing the use of plastics in packaging for products that require external protection, we aim to offer our customers the best solution, tailored to their brand vision and product requirements,” he explained. Melinda Bonamour, Market Director Role at Coveris.
This new range of packaging is divided into two product families: MonoFlex Fibre Pure, packaging with a single layer of functional paper, and MonoFlex Fiber, packaging with a multi-layer structure and a higher proportion of paper. Coveris has several subcategories within each of these two, both for primary and secondary packaging, which offer excellent sealing and barrier properties. In addition, the transition to a paper structure will not require major changes to our customers' machines, having proven its effectiveness and speed on standard packaging lines.
Regardless of the option chosen, both versions offer the right level of protection and barrier properties, being also totally recyclable in the paper container. The MonoFlex Fibre product range, available as ready-made bags and reel material, has barrier properties against grease, moisture, oxygen, light or mineral oils. Paper packaging also enhances brand visibility on the shelf, with excellent printing in gravure, flexography and digital printing.
“Our goal is to meet the primary and secondary packaging needs of brands across a range of industries, including dry food, tea, candy, fresh produce, biscuits, frozen foods and pet food, by offering complete paper structures and recyclable paper and plastic structures. We are confident that these new solutions will be the best resource for manufacturers looking for recyclable and efficient paper packaging options,” says Bonamour.
