The Coca-Cola “contour bottle” has been an icon since its creation in 1916. This collection of tableware has been made from bottles that, after undergoing too many recycling processes, could no longer be used for their original purpose. Nendo was captivated by its green hue known as "Georgia Green" and by the fine air bubbles and warping that characterize recycled glass, "so we decided to create simple shapes that would enhance those traits. Our solution was to create bowls and plates that retain the characteristic shape of the bottom, as if the top had been cut off." The ring of dimples at the base of the bowls and plates has also been retained.
