New state-of-the-art Gerresheimer facility in India

Gerresheimer has significantly increased its ability to glass and plastic production in india with the construction of a new plant to produce high-quality plastic containers and closures in Kosamba and a new state-of-the-art sustainable oven technology.

Gerresheimer's goal is to ensure a constant supply to pharmaceutical and healthcare facilities with the highest demand for packaging. Gerresheimer already operates other production plants, including Triveni and Neutral Glass, which the company acquired in 2012. The four highly specialized Indian plants belong to the worldwide production network of the Gerresheimer Group and are equipped with high-tech manufacturing processes for the production of pharmaceutical primary containers of plastic, molded and tubular glass.

“These new investments allow us to now serve our customers locally with combined product solutions across all Gerresheimer divisions. We have special expectations for revenue growth in India, with more capacity we are closer to reaching our targets," he said. Niels During, global executive vice president of plastic packaging.

Gerresheimer has installed the latest Type I borosilicate melting furnace for the production of flint and amber glass, equipped with innovative machines and the most sensitive inspection equipment following Gerresheimer's molded glass production standards. "With this technology, we will substantially improve the quality of our products and address additional market segments," he said. Gerresheimer ensures full compliance of its products and follows the European Pharmacopoeia, United States Pharmacopoeia and meets YBB requirements for China and FDA registration with Drug Master File as standard. Production operations are carried out in sanitized rooms. Gerresheimer applies Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and is classified according to ISO standards.
