Smurfit Kappa

La new sustainable packaging solution from Smurfit Kappa is an alternative to existing single-use plastic solutions called Twin Kraft Grease Guard MB12. Currently, it meets the sustainability needs of the Fresh Post fast food restaurant.

This new packaging has been manufactured in Smurfit Kappa Double Kraft Solid Board, which is a paper-based monomaterial specifically designed for packaging suitable for food contact. By integrating its MB12 technology, the recyclable material can absorb mineral oils, keeping food safe while protecting its aroma and flavor.

Twin Kraft Grease Guard MB12 is 100% FSC® certified, guarantee that the raw material comes from sustainably managed forests.

This new packaging is another example of the products being designed within the Better Planet Packaging initiative, which has great potential to transform the industry.

Smurfit Kappa Kraft Double Carton has already won a 'Packaging Innovation Award' at the RISI PPI Awards 2021, as well as a Pro Carton 'Innovation Award' in 2020.
