The Nit ADG Laus

La Nit ADG Laus, the award ceremony of the ADG Laus Awards for Graphic Design and Visual Communication, was held on Thursday, November 26 in online format. It is the great date in which the Association of Graphic Designers and Art Directors of the FAD (ADG-FAD) awards some awards convened since 1964 and this year have completed 50 editions. More than 1.200 projects have been presented this year to be evaluated by the jury of each category, made up of renowned national and international professionals.

In total, 346 projects have been awarded: 5 Grand Laus, 1 Young Talent, 34 Gold Laus, 85 Silver Laus and 217 Bronze Laus and 4 Laus Aporta, two professionals and two students. In addition, the ADG Board has awarded 1 Laus de Honor and 1 Laus Companies and Entities.

The projects are divided into six categories: Graphic Design, Digital, Advertising, Audiovisual, Students and Aporta, the novelty of this year. Within each category the projects, presented in different sections, compete to obtain the Bronze Laus, Silver Laus and Gold Laus. The projects awarded with a Gold Laus in each category compete to win a Grand Laus and, in the case of students, a Young Talent. Finally, the Board of Directors of ADG-FAD chooses two relevant awards: the Laus de Honor and the Laus Empresas y Entidades.

2020 Laureates Laus de Honor 2020: America Sanchez
The ADG-FAD Board has estimated to award the Laus de Honor award to America Sanchez for her contribution to the definition of the profession and teaching, for the creation of an emblematic imagery full of intelligence and humor for the city of Barcelona and for its immeasurable contribution to the graphic culture of the country. America Sanchez's work has previously been recognized on various occasions with 6 Laus awards, the National Design Award in 1992 and the 2001 City of Barcelona Award for the book "Barcelona Gráfica".
Laus Companies and Entities: Grupo Tragaluz
This award wants to recognize those companies or entities that stand out for their long, fruitful and inspiring relationship with graphic design and visual communication. The Board of ADG-FAD has decided to award the 2020 Laus Empresas y Entidades award to Grupo Tragaluz for the significant commitment and close connection of its project with graphic design, interior design and furniture design and for having trusted since its inception in professionals of the stature of Peret, Pepe Cortés, Javier Mariscal, Mario Eskenazi, RUN, Sandra Tarruella and Frederic Amat, among many others.
