July 18, 2016

El Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging has reinforced its commitment to improve the competitiveness of companies in the field of packaging, for which it will create, as of September, a commission that will boost access to innovation projects for all its members.

This announcement took place within the breakfast organized by the Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging, in which more than 25 member companies of the sector have gathered, and which has had ITENE (Technological Institute of Packaging, Transport and Logistics).

In his welcoming speech, the president of ITENE, Pedro Ballester, assured that it is necessary to foster a cooperation network so that innovation is accessible to all companies, regardless of their size, aspiring to create a “Packaging Valley” that makes it stand out to the sector, he stressed. A sector that, in the Valencian Community, represents more than 10% of the industrial fabric and to which it is necessary to give relevance so that “we bring the technology and existing innovations in the world to companies”, said the president of ITENE.

At the end of the meeting, the attending companies have been able to know, and see first-hand, the laboratories that ITENE has to carry out the latest advances and research, as well as examples of developments in new materials and packaging.

The center has the most extensive offer of specific tests for packaging, packaging, transport and distribution, with 266 tests, plus a hundred accredited by entities such as ENAC ILAC-MRA or ISTA (International Safe Transit Association). In addition, the laboratories are accredited by ENAC in accordance with the ISO 17025 Standard, which guarantees quality and reliable, precise and traceable results.
