aimplas participates in the WaysTUP! project, funded by Horizon 2020, whose objective is turn urban biological waste into resources as food additives, seasonings, insect proteins, bioethanol, biosolvents and bioplastics.
The project will develop and implement an approach that involves behavioral change in citizens and local communities. By improving their perceptions of urban biological waste as a local resource, the aim is to promote active citizen participation in the separate collection of urban biological waste for recovery.
Aimplas' role will be to produce PHA packaging from coffee waste and oil. PHA will first be formulated so that it can be extruded, the sheet will be fabricated, and then the the packaging.
