New Strategic Plan of the Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging

August 6st, 2019

El Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging it has just obtained the renewal for another four years as an Innovative Business Group (AEI) by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
The Government of Spain has positively valued the new Strategic plan presented by the entity, a roadmap that "marks the actions to be developed in the period 2019-2022 to continue contributing to the economic growth of the Container and Packaging sector", explained its managing director, Jesús Pérez.
One of the main axes of the Strategic Plan, in whose development the business consultancy IMPROVEN has participated, is to make the Cluster the point of reference for companies that need any container and packaging solution, and that is the 'Hub' of the sector where the needs best adapted to customers are found.
Three other outstanding challenges focus on maintaining collaboration between partners; continue to be an observer of trends in innovation to inform companies both in terms of R&D and the evolution of final consumer behavior; and continue to have a critical mass with representatives from the entire packaging value chain.
In this sense, one of the results achieved after the previous plan is to have tripled the number of partners and collaborators, with a total of 155 entities.
In addition, the Cluster has organized more than 25 activities, innovation breakfasts, workshops, conferences, dynamization of projects, etc., aimed at the packaging sector.
Likewise, the active participation of the Cluster in the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV) and the voice it holds on one of the CEOE Commissions is noteworthy. In addition to chairing one of the commissions, the Cluster actively participates in three others.
The Cluster receives support from the Valencian administration since its inception. Specifically, its work has allowed a return of more than 3 million euros in subsidies granted to companies in the container and packaging sector in the call for grants of the Strategic Plan for Valencian Industry 2019.
