1882 Ltd. is a design-based ceramic brand formed by the fourth and fifth generations of the Johnson Brothers family, one of Staffordshire's most successful potteries.
Based on its original type brand identity, 1882 Ltd. asked Pentagram to create a range of tailored packaging for a new range of luxury candles and diffusers, with its signature fragrance housed in Chinese porcelain pieces commissioned from four leading designers. Pentagram and domenic lippa designed the luxurious packaging.
The collection consists of the Crockery candle and diffuser with Max Lamb, the Ceramic Garden candle with Bruce McLean, the Dissolve candle with Snarkitecture and the Luster candle with Bethan Gray. All four use different ceramic techniques.
