Pop, by Pablo Arenzana, a student at the ESDIR school (La Rioja), has been the winning design of the first prize, endowed with € 3.000, in the Verallia Glass and Creation Contest. The project, under the claim "connect, combine and enjoy", offers the possibility of enjoying drinks and food at the same time.
The second prize, valued at € 1.500, went to Fuji, conceived by Javier Alonso, from ESDIR. It presented a set of three containers designed for gourmet products. They adapt to the size of each elaboration to give it the greatest prominence.
The third, endowed with € 1.000, went to Butter Nº 1, by Linette Klitgaard, a student at IED Barcelona. Its container for butter is stackable, ergonomic and reusable, directly inspired by Nordic aesthetics and its purity of lines.
Verallia, a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain group and a leader in the glass packaging sector, presented the first prizes in the Spanish edition of its Glass and Creation Contest, which premieres its Spanish version. The jury, headed by Nacho Lavernia, National Award for Design and Innovation in 2012, chose the winners from among 35 proposals.
In its 2013-2014 call and under the slogan "Reinvent a glass container", Design students were challenged to explore all the creative, technical and commercial possibilities of this material. The greatest achievement for future designers is the possibility that some of the projects presented could be developed by Verallia, together with its creator, and marketed throughout the world.
