OPTIFOOD-ORGANIC project

April 1th 2013

The AINIA and AIDO technology centers are developing, in cooperation, the OPTIFOOD-ORGANIC project, funded by the ERDF and IMPIVA, in order to investigate the application of spectral vision, optical sensors and biosensors to improve inspection and quality control in industrial processes. This project combines AIDO's experience in artificial vision, image analysis and optical devices, with AINIA's extensive experience in spectroscopy and biochemical sensors applied to food control. The objective of the OPTIFOOD-ORGANIC project is to identify applications of this technology on an industrial scale, so spectral vision inspection systems will be investigated and developed on a macro scale to improve the control of food processes, as well as optical devices capable of detecting residues or contaminants on a micro scale. Subsequently, tests will be carried out with the developed systems with real samples of selected cases.
