Ricoh Spain, a leading company in technology and digital transformation, and the CIM of the UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) have inaugurated the Ricoh Additive Manufacturing Center, the first center of Print 3D and Ricoh's additive manufacturing in Spain, which will serve the industrial sector internationally.
The Center is located in the facilities of the CIM of the UPC in Barcelona, an entity whose mission is to generate and transfer knowledge of engineering and technology management to professionals and companies.
The launch of the center, in which Ricoh has invested close to one million euros, is the culmination of the agreement signed between the two entities to promote additive manufacturing in the industrial sector and facilitate innovation and knowledge transfer in this area. .
For Felip Fenollosa, general director of the CIM of the UPC, “This agreement with Ricoh is key to show, in a 100% industrial and therefore real environment, what are the tools that companies have to incorporate if they want to transform their business model to the new dynamics of Industry 4.0 through printing 3D and digital manufacturing in general ”.
