10 Design Weeks invited
Pau Herrera, president of the BCD, highlighted that 10 Design Week has been invited to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the BDW, during the press conference held today at the Disseny Hub in Barcelona. He also highlighted that companies dedicated to design "generate high added value employment" and a business volume that exceeds 12.000 million euros. "We want to bet on the creative talent of the city," he added. Finally, he highlighted the recognition of a student from the Aula school.
Isabel Roig, general director of BCD, stated that "the answer is to improve the user experience" and spoke about the pairing of design and technology. He explained the activities of the design week, among which he also highlighted the Ecodesign Day, highlighting the importance of the circular economy and that work is being done so that design is recognized in this area. Finally, he insisted on the commitment to the economic, business, start-ups ...
For her part, Nani Marquina, president of the FAD, focused on the FADfest, the festival of design and architecture organized by the FAD and held from June 29 to July 5 at the Disseny Hub Barcelona. It is articulated in two axes, “Tot a lloc”, which includes all the activities related to the prizes awarded by the FAD, and “Fora de lloc”, a guide to lose yourself and think that brings together works that distort categories and conventions, commissioned by Rosa Pera, who spoke next. The FADFest exhibition curator explored what a territory that was not a space of comfort would look like for any of the disciplines covered by the FAD: "We have sought to cross the research methods of architects, designers and artists." Based on the script proposed by Rosa Pera, the exhibition "Fora de lloc" is the result of the transversal work of the curatorial team directed by her and made up of five professionals representing the different disciplines of the FAD.
