Quadpack's ShapeUp features a mono-material cream dispensing tube with custom shapes

cream dispenser tube

quad pack presents its latest packaging innovation: ShapeUp Tube. This original packaging dispenses formulas in unique shapes: a sun, a flower, a logo or any geometric design. Consumers decide: they can squeeze the tube to release the formula in their special shape and apply it by stamping it or swiping with their finger. It is ideal for hand creams, sunscreen, hair styling wax or even blush.

ShapeUp Tube is the brainchild of Quadpack’s Creative Hub, offering brands personalisation without having to invest in bespoke packaging. Its operation appears simple in all its complexity. A plate with a customisable design is pressed into the mouth of the tube. When dispensed, the formula is extruded through the holes in the plate. Sun and flower-shaped plates are available as standard, but Quadpack can also produce a bespoke design to help with brand storytelling.

The 30mm diameter tube is available in various lengths and capacities from 20 – 80ml. ShapeUp Tube is a mono-material container made entirely of polyethylene (PE) with up to 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. A five-layer version with an EVOH barrier is also available to provide additional protection for the formula. The multi-layer tube can also incorporate up to 40% post-consumer recycled PE. Testing of the cartridges shows that refilling is easy and leak-free thanks to the hermetic seal, or liner, of the cap, which is also made of PE.

Brands can add a more personal touch by applying gloss, matte or soft touch finishes, and playing with different colours. The colour of the plate itself will draw attention to the drawing that will be captured in the formula when it is dispensed, giving the user a multi-sensory experience.

This tube is the newest member of the ShapeUp family. ShapeUp Stick, launched a year ago, was the pioneering packaging for this new type of personalized system.
