Smurfit Kappa increases its EBITDA by 7%

Smurfit Kappa has closed its last fiscal year with revenues of 9.048 million euros, 1% more than the previous year. Its EBITDA stood at 1.650 million euros, after increasing 7% this year, while its margin grew 18,2%. Regarding the cash flow (Free Cash Flow), the figure has risen to 547 million euros in 2019, which implies an increase of 11%, while its final dividend has grown by 12%, to 80,9 cents per share.

Our goal is to become a globally admired company that dynamically offers safe and valuable returns and the data obtained shows that we are on the right track. We are present in 35 countries, where we work to create innovative, sustainable and paper-based solutions for more than 65.000 clients, to whom we always offer the best ”, stressed the manager.
The founder of the company himself has mentioned the two large regions that move the bulk of the company's business: Europe and America, ensuring that "our European business has continued to operate satisfactorily, as demonstrated by its EBITDA margin, which has reached 19%, thanks to the growth in demand, in line with our expectations. In fact, the year has been particularly good in Iberia and Eastern Europe. Regarding our activity in America, the EBITDA margin has increased to 17,5%, compared to 15,7% in 2018, thanks to countries such as Colombia, Mexico and the United States, which have had solid financial activity throughout the exercise".
Smurfit Kappa has so far made an investment of 700 million euros in acquisitions of new companies that add value to the Group's activity, as well as in technology. Along these lines, the Group will complete during 2020 a series of important paper projects in Europe and will continue to invest in its division of corrugated paperboard.
