Stoelzle Glass Group has been awarded at the UK Packaging Awards 2022 for the Dragon Slaye gin bottler, in the category of best packaging for a new product.
The design of the bottle and the gin, which is created from locally sourced ingredients and medieval spa water, are rooted in the history of dragon slayer culture and folklore heritage. The North East of the UK is full of folk stories, songs and traditions that often go back beyond the record. The Dragon Slayer Distillery is located in Sockburn Hall, the home of Sir John Conyers, a famed dragon slayer. Dragon Slayer Distillery gin bottles are made at Stoelzle Flaconnage in Knottingley, UK.
Two other bottles of Stoelzle Flaconnage made in Knottingley received recognition at the prestigious UK Packaging Awards. Spirit of One Gin (Global Ethics Liquor Co.) and Kirkjuvagr Gin (Orkney Distilling) were nominated in the Glass Container of the Year – Spirits, Perfumes and Cosmetics category.
The Stoelzle Flaconnage design team worked closely with the three nominated and winning clients to support the design of the bottles and in some cases even the closures, as was the case with the Dragon Slayer Gin bottle.
