La new vintage 2021de The Garden of the Empress, young white wine which Eduardo and Victor Hernaiz Made at their Finca La Emperatriz, in the extreme north-west of the DOCa Rioja, it stands out for its freshness and its aroma of white flowers, citrus notes and white fruits.
The white Emperatriz Garden is made with Viura -the Riojan white variety par excellence-, which comes mostly from goblet vineyards with a mean age of 60 years. These vineyards are cultivated with ecological criteria and are harvested manually.
With this origin and once in the cellar, this white of balanced cut: the must enters a concrete tank to macerate for two days –and obtain greater aromatic extraction– and spends a period of two months with its fine lees. In addition, in this 2021 harvest, the wine benefits from the vintage effect, with a dry climate and moderate temperatures that favored the production of aromatic compounds, especially in the Viura variety, and a significant natural acidity which has been translated into freshness.
