UPM Raflatac expands its offering Labels without direct thermal (DT) support with the launch of its new solution OptiCut™ WashOff. The new linerless label is specifically designed for returnable and reusable plastic food containerss, including PP, HDPE and PET boxes used in food logistics.

Compatible with most direct thermal printers and scales, the OptiCut WashOff label offers excellent washability and easy, residue-free adhesive removal for both industrial processes and home washing machines.

The OptiCut WashOff solution meets end-use requirements by offering the same benefits as the entire linerless OptiCut product range, including: optimal adhesion with a clean cut on a variety of surfaces, increased efficiency with a longer maintenance cycle and the flexibility to print and cut to any length.

In addition, all products in UPM Raflatac's unsupported OptiCut product range feature the CarbonNeutral® certification from Climate Impact Partners in accordance with the CarbonNeutral Protocol. While UPM Raflatac is working to reduce internal emissions, the unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions of this product have been offset by the purchase of high-quality carbon credits. This means that partners can promote their printed labels as CarbonNeutral® certified.

“As retailers, hospitality and logistics companies increasingly turn to returnable and reusable packaging, we are delighted to introduce our new washable solution for direct thermal printing,” comments Andoni Rodriguez, Business Segment Director Logistics, Retail, Office and Linerless at UPM Raflatac. “With the largest global distribution network for non-linerless products, we are proud to now offer our partners the OptiCut WashOff label. This solution demonstrates our commitment to innovation and supporting our customers on their journey towards sustainability,” he adds.
