VIII edition of the National Packaging Design and Sustainability Awards

The Cluster of Innovation in Container and Packaging has opened the period for submitting applications for companies that use packaging and packaging, belonging to any sector, to participate in the VIII edition of the National Awards for Design and Sustainability.

The requirement to be able to participate in these awards is to launch a challenge of a new container in which the particular needs that each of the companies require in terms of their packaging are defined, always under the premise of sustainability. The participating students solve this challenge, contributing their solutions, and the projects selected by the companies will be the winning designs.

The benefits for the participating companies are centered on two main axes. On the one hand, in the numerous projects and feedback they receive to solve their particular packaging and packaging situations, which they can later apply internally. On the other, the Corporate Social Responsibility action that entails offering opportunities to young students from the University and the recruitment of this talent.

These awards, which were launched for the first time in 2009, have the objective of being a catalyst for new packaging designs under criteria of innovation and sustainability, as well as the effective establishment of bridges between the university world and companies. .

In the last edition, a total of 90 students from 12 Design schools and Universities from all over Spain participated, and four companies in the category of Leroy Merlin, Heineken, Babaria and Grefusa were the ones that proposed their packaging challenges.
