Virtual MeetingPack 2021 is held on May 27

Virtual MeetingPack 2021, the prelude to MeetingPack 2022, will present the innovations and address the challenges of the food packaging sector through a series of inspiring presentations and round tables on May 27.

Sponsoring companies such as Enplater Group, UBE, RSM and TPL, collaborating entities such as Avep, Plastics Europe, Fipa, Anarpla, Anaip, EFE (Association of Flexible Packaging Converters) and packnet support this event.

In this virtual conference, the latest technological innovations in sustainable barrier packaging will be advanced and the challenges facing the industry will be analyzed around two blocks: Sustainable packaging solutions e Incorporation of recycling in packaging. In the first, Angela Osma, Technical and Sustainability Director of Anaip's Container and Packaging division, will offer her strategic vision on the development of packaging and will address the new Waste Law and how it affects packaging. This will be followed by a round table moderated by Carlos Enguix, Head of Packaging Technologies at Ainia, in which the strategy, trends, challenges and opportunities in the development of sustainable packaging will be approached with a business vision and in which Peter Coll, Director of R&D at Enplater Group, patrick zimmerman, Executive Board at FKUR y Pedro Ruiz Rodriguez, specialist in Environmental Sustainability in Nestlé Spain, will talk about concepts and trends such as ecodesign, recyclability, monomaterial packaging, renewable sources, biodegradation or compostability.

In the second block, Oscar Hernandez, CEO of Anarpla, will give his strategic vision on the use of recycled material in the food packaging sector and will review what are the major legislative and supply challenges today. Then, Lorena Rodriguez, Head of Packaging at Aimplas, will moderate a round table that will address the strategy, trends, challenges and opportunities in the use of recycled material in the development of packaging from a business point of view and in which mechanical recycling will be discussed, chemical recycling and also the importance of a functional barrier in this type of packaging. This will involve the participation of Maria Rodriguez, responsible for Sustainability at Lantero-Coexpan Group, Borja Lafuente, head of Sustainability Iberia at Danone, and Thomas Bak Thellesen, Director of Group Sustainability & External Affairs at faerch.

Jointly organized by Ainia and Aimplas, MeetingPack (www.meetingpack.com) is a biennial event that, since 2013, brings together more than 300 people from the packaging sector and the like to discuss the main novelties related to barrier packaging. The next edition will take place on April 20 and 21, 2022.
