Verallia

Veralia launches another year Design and Creation contest of glass containers for schools in Spain and Portugal. In this tenth edition, it challenges the participating students to create a container that, beyond its functional work, can provide an experience to the consumer.

Under the slogan "Glass to enjoy the moment” The XNUMXth edition of the Verallia Glass Design and Creation contest in Spain and Portugal launches the challenge of looking for a container that provides an extra experiential experience and allows you to enjoy the moment of consumption.

Thus, each candidate will be able to create a glass bottle or jar, taking full advantage of the creative possibilities offered by this material, since this year they are given freedom to present a container for any of the Verallia markets: still and sparkling wines, spirits, beer, water and non-alcoholic drinks or jars for food.

As every year, Verallia offers an analysis of the global trends applied to glass and that are marked by the slowdown situation that we are currently experiencing and the search for well-being. Thus, he proposes us to create containers (bottles and jars) that are inspired by nature (biomimicry) and provide sensations of peace and serenity (due to their shape, finishes or colors).

Contest participants have until June 10 the opportunity to present their proposals to opt for one of the four prizes established with endowments of €2.500 (first prize), €1.300 (second prize), €900 (third prize) and €300 (Social Networks prize).

The schools selected to participate in this edition have been ELISAVA (Barcelona) ESDIR (La Rioja), ESNE (Madrid), EPS (Seville), LCI (Barcelona), UNIZAR (Zaragoza), ESADA (Granada), the University of Navarra and the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragón in Spain; and ESEC (Coimbra), University of Beira Interior, University of Évora and the Guarda Polytechnic in Portugal.

The jury will be made up of industry experts (agencies, designers, journalists) and Verallia clients and executives, who will jointly decide on the best projects. The result of their verdict will be made public at the end of June.

This contest represents a springboard in the career of the participants, since Verallia offers the possibility to these young talents of designing and producing their creation, which is a first step in their career and professional visibility.

An example of the professional journey of the designs submitted to the contest is the "Apiari" jar that the students Carla Torres, Marco Arroyo, Ya Yan Dai and Gemma Monllorse from the ELISAVA school in Barcelona presented in the 2022 edition and which is now part of the Verallia Iberia packaging catalogue.
