The international association that will manage the Single-Entry-Point (SEP) of the project BIONANOPOLYS has been formally established. Thus, it will be able to give support to companies throughout the European Union in the introduction into the bionanomaterials market, through technical, legal, regulatory, security, economic and financial support services.
The SEP was established as an AISBL (non-profit entity) on February 17, 2023 within the framework of the European project BIONANOPOLYS, financed by the Horizon 2020 program. The technical director of ITENE and coordinator of this project, Carmen Sanchez, is the president of this association in which directors representing other project partners also act. Specifically, the CTP (Centre Technique du Papier) from France; CIDAUT (Foundation for Research and Development in Transport and Energy), of Spain; centi (Center for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials), from Portugal, and the law firm Gil Robles – San Bartolome & Partners, from Belgium.
Thanks to the BIONANOPOLYS SEP, it will be possible to reduce the risks and barriers to the commercial exploitation of bio-based materials and polymeric bionanocomposites with nanotechnology and it will accelerate market penetration and innovation processes.
They will be able to access the services offered by the project partners through this entity, which will act as a one-stop shop, at economically affordable costs and conditions, those SMEs, large companies and potential clients who are users of the OITB (by its acronym in English Open Innovation Test Bed, Open Innovation Platform) of BIONANOPOLYS.
The test bed is made up of 14 improved pilot plants and complementary services to support technological and commercial advances. The collaboration between all the partners that make up Bionanopolys and access through the SEP allows joint access to all the services offered by the partners and helps promote collaborative open innovation.
Call to access the BIONANOPOLYS OITB
The SEP and the project partners will be in charge of evaluating the projects that are submitted to the BIONANOPOLYS platform, once the open call launched last February to select five projects from different European countries that will be able to access its services is closed. for free to develop, test or scale bionanomaterials on the BIONANOPOLYS OITB.
Companies wishing to access services to develop or test nanomaterials may submit their applications until April 30.
The BIONANOPOLYS test bed may benefit companies dedicated to the production of biopolymers, cellulose paper, non-woven fabrics, foams or coatings, as well as the packaging, agriculture, food, cosmetics, pharmacy, hygiene, textile and 3D printing sectors .
