Universal robots, a Danish manufacturer of collaborative robots (cobots), has announced the expansion of its product portfolio with the launch of a new collaborative robot with a payload of 30 kg.

Under the name of UR30, new cobot from Universal Robots becomes the second product in the company's series of innovative next-generation cobots. Based on the same architecture as the award-winning UR20, the new UR30 boasts extraordinary lifting capacity despite its compact size. Its superior motion control ensures perfect placement of large payloads, allowing you to work at higher speeds and lift heavier loads.

The particularities of the UR30 make it ideal for a wide range of applications; These include machine feeding, material handling and high-torque screwdriving. In relation to machine feeding, the 30kg payload offers new possibilities, since it allows the cobot to use different grippers at the same time. Therefore, the UR30 is capable of removing already finished parts and loading more material in a single movement, reducing changeover times and maximizing productivity.

The new UR30 also presents improvements in high-torque screwdriving, since it allows handling larger torque tools with greater performance. Thanks to its constant mode function, the UR30 provides firm and consistent screwdriving, making it an ideal application for the automotive industry.

On the other hand, the 30 kg payload makes the UR30 an excellent option for material handling and palletizing of heavy products in all industries. In addition, its compact size allows it to fit into almost all work spaces, freeing people from heavy work. With a weight of only 63,5 kg, The new UR30 can also be easily moved between different work cells.

To the president of Universal Robots, kim povlsen, “increased payload and flexibility underpin a new era in automation. Industries around the world are adopting more agile manufacturing and modular production; This agility and modularity demanded by the industry has to do, in part, with mobility, and this new cobot offers it in addition to its large payload,” says Povlsen.

“As the industry evolves, the UR30 not only meets changing demands, but also anticipates them, allowing companies to adapt and respond to the changing needs of their industry effectively. The UR30 is another step on Universal Robots' path towards innovation, in which we expand the limits of what is possible in the world of automation,” concludes the president of Universal Robots.
