Comexi, Basquevolt and Schneider will develop machinery to manufacture electric batteries

comexi takes a new step forward in its firm commitment to the electric battery sector and has reached an agreement with the manufacturer of new generation batteries Basquevolt and Schneider Electric to help develop a high precision machinery for battery manufacturing. This decision will significantly contribute to strengthening the European supply chain against major Asian competitors.

The three companies are part of the UPCELL alliance (European Battery Manufacturing Alliance), whose main objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturers of electric batteries, in a context that is increasingly polarized between China and the United States.

“It will benefit the entire European ecosystem of battery manufacturers,” he says. Pablo Fernández, Chief Engineering and Programs Officer of Basquevolt, who adds that the machinery developed by Comexi and Schneider will provide cutting-edge solutions geared towards fourth-generation batteries that will provide the best equipment for the pilot line that will be launched in 2025.

This agreement reached joins Comexi's decision to manufacture a new range of cutters for copper and aluminum electrodes, which offer high productivity and the best quality on the market.
