Veralia, aware of the critical situation we are going through as a result of the Covid-19, has launched a series of aid in the different communities where its factories and headquarters are located.
Among others, last week it delivered 10 hospital beds and tables in the La Paz Hospital in Madrid, worth 30.000 euros. The previous one, delivered to Burgos Hospital 4.435 FFP2 respiratory masks and 4 pediatric stethoscopes worth another 30.000 euros, to help protect healthcare personnel in the fight against coronavirus.
Through Caritas 4 tons of staple food have been delivered in Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara), which have been distributed among more than 250 families in the town. In Dos Hermanas (Seville) the factory has also donated 1 ton of food products for 100 families.
In Zaragoza, Verallia has donated hydrogel containers to Clinical Hospital and Los Maizales II Residence, as well as food through different entities.
On the other hand, it has allocated 60.000 euros to food Bank to be distributed in the different provinces in which it is implanted. It has also distributed protection material and food to the carriers in charge these days of delivering the containers to their customers to maintain the supply chain.
Among the benefited entities are Cáritas, the Spanish Red Cross, the Civil Guard, Unicef, hospitals and homes for the elderly near the plants located in Azuqueca de Henares, Burgos, Canarias, Montblanc, Zaragoza and in Figueira da Foz (Portugal), that in total they will receive from Verallia Iberia the amount of 300.000 euros in aid.
The company, which has been operating in Spain for more than 50 years, hopes with this gesture "to alleviate the prevention and medical care work of the health workers who serve our neighbors, as well as to help the families who need it most", has explained Paulo pinto, General Director of Verallia Iberia.
