Koehler Paper

Koehler Paper, an integral part of the Koehler Group, last year supplemented its assortment of flexible packaging papers with products that are used for “fast food”. The solutions, originally introduced as Koehler NexPure® papers, have been developed and are now available as Koehler NexPlus® papers and are fully produced without acrylate.

In October 2022, with Koehler NexPlus Wrap®, Koehler Paper introduced an extremely lightweight hamburger packaging paper. Next, with Koehler NexPlus® OGR, the company launched a sustainable, oil- and fat-resistant paper onto the market, which is used, for example, to package chips, sandwiches, wraps or burritos.

Fast food products without acrylate or fluorine-based chemicals

With Koehler NexPlus® OGR and Koehler NexPlus® Wrap, Koehler Paper has further developed its fast food papers, further adapting them to customer demands in the sense of sustainability Now the products are not only made without using substances fluorine-based chemicals, but also without using acrylate.

Christoph Wachter, director of the flexible packaging papers division at Koehler Paper, says: "with this further development we have a sustainable fast food packaging that does completely without acrylate and without a coating of fluorine chemicals, while offering the same functionality. In addition, the total recyclability of the paper is ensured.” As fiber material, exclusively cellulose from certified sustainable forest exploitation and controlled sources is used for this product.
