Alzamora Group, a family business specialized in the production of cardboard packaging, is moving towards its innovation and sustainability goals. In 2022, the business group, with headquarters in Spain and Portugal, shared its goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 5% (GHG) with measures such as the installation of solar panels, the acquisition of state-of-the-art machinery and investment in LED technology, among others. A goal that, one year later, they have far exceeded, achieving a overall decrease of 19% and 23% at its plant in Spain.

Compliance and, above all, exceeding the set objectives is a great drive and motivation to continue moving forward with our Reduction Plan. which already has new objectives for 2026".

Alzamora Group's positioning strategy as a technological and ecological benchmark has led the company to make major improvements in its plants, with the aim of improving efficiencies and reducing its environmental impact, and to develop new lines to collaborate with its clients in this last objective. .

They presented a few years ago with LatCub®, the can grouping solution that replaces plastic rings, and Enovo®, its single-material proposal for packaging and transporting eggs. Both developments, winners of the WorldStar Packaging Awards, They are part of the Green Packaging Planet line, cardboard solutions developed by its R&D&I department, to which it has recently joined Gridpack®, a new format for packaging, preserving and transporting chocolates and pastries.

With the contracting renewable energy marketers, the installation of thermal solar panels at its headquarters in Portugal, Novotipo, and improvements in efficiency to reduce thermal energy consumption, Alzamora Group sets itself the challenge of a further reduction of 5% by 2026. An objective to which are also added actions such as the efficient planning of the management of its routes, the promotion of its continuous improvement department, the acquisition of new machinery and vehicles of the latest technology and the specialized training of its team.
