Hinojosa Packaging Group closed last year with a turnover of 820 million euros, 27% higher than in 2021. The company thus maintained the growth trend of recent years, despite the complex global context, with all-time highs in the price of energy and raw materials and supply problems that affected the entire value chain.

The increasing optimization of all the company's processes and efficient management have been key to coping with the demanding situation of the environment.

Hinojosa's objective is to accompany its clients in their growth and respond to their requirements, derived, among other factors, from the social trend in favor of an increasingly widespread use of sustainable containers and packaging.

Innovative packaging solutions

The permanent commitment to innovation has also been key: the company has launched new products that expand its already extensive offer of solutions, such as sustainable packaging for fresh food or the launch of Foodservice, the new line of 100% recyclable paper-based packaging. .

In this sense, the company received several awards in 2022 linked to innovation, such as the Alfa de Oro Award from the Spanish Ceramic and Glass Society (SECV) or the Liderpack 2022 Awards, both thanks to the design of a Bag in Box type container for liquids.

Hinojosa is also committed to innovation focused on digital transformation and competitiveness, through programs and methodologies for the development of talent that promote this culture and innovative mentality. From professional development for recent graduates or internal technical training to management development programs. He highlights the FP Dual project, a pioneer in the implementation of a module in graphic arts.

Decarbonization and circular economy

For Hinojosa, sustainability is a long-term strategic investment. In terms of decarbonisation, the company managed, in parallel to the increase in sales, to reduce its carbon footprint by 12% last year. And, in terms of circular economy, it achieved a waste recovery of more than 93%, reintegrating almost all of its waste as raw materials in the value chain.

In addition, in 2022 Hinojosa joined the United Nations Global Compact and obtained certification on the management model based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), developed by AENOR, as well as the Ecovadis gold medal for continuous improvement in sustainability.

Hinojosa continues its international expansion

Added to Hinojosa's strong presence in Spain is its international expansion. During 2022, the company consolidated in Portugal and France, after consolidating the purchase and integration of Allard Emballages, a French family group specialized in the manufacture and sale of paper and corrugated cardboard packaging.

In this sense, the company takes into account the specific needs and work cultures of each territory, adapting even more if possible to the requirements of the different audiences and placing its customers, employees, suppliers and the communities where it operates at the center.

More than 75 years innovating and creating value

The year 2022 was also cause for celebration for Hinojosa as it coincided with the company's 75th anniversary. In the context of this great milestone, a series of fun days were held for the more than 2.500 employees that are part of Hinojosa

The company also shared with all its employees this year the purpose of increasing common well-being with sustainable packaging solutions. Under the slogan "Adding value to what we carry inside", this renewed value proposal serves as a reference for the company to face future challenges, with the firm intention of continuing to grow with its customers, expanding the range of sustainable products and entering in new markets.
