Trash Union presents its Sampler of Recycled Papers and Alternative Fibers, with new ranges of papers, using Favini's EKOenergy certified technology, as well as applying various circular economy processes. The catalog is made up of different products from favini, a manufacturer that stands out for being at the forefront of the paper industry.

The first novelty is Refit, a paper that is made from wool and cotton textile waste. For its production, it has the EKOenergy certificate, the non-profit international ecological label for renewable energies, and is made up of 40% post-consumer recycled paper and 15% wool or cotton fibers, which after Submitting them to special treatment, they are mixed with the cellulose to make a paper with a particular touch and texture. All of them with the highest environmental credentials.

The second range available through Unión Papelera is the Tree-Free Bamboo, a role that has not caused a forest impact for more than 20 years. This product has an improved recipe and a new grammage of 380 g/m², perfect for labels, cards and packaging. Bamboo Tree-Free is made from 25% cotton linters and 75% bamboo fibres. These renewable crops give rise to the highest quality fibers, which provide the paper with a smooth, natural finish, soft to the touch and high printing performance. In addition to all this, Tree-Free Bamboo is recyclable and biodegradable. It is also manufactured under EKOenergy certification, as it is extracted with less environmental impact in terms of electricity, gas, heat and cooling from the Favini hydroelectric power station itself.

Continue the list with Shiro Seaweed Letter, which continues to stand out since its launch in the 90s. It is created under the concept of circular economy and with a patented system, which allows the use of algae that damages the ecosystem of the Venetian Lagoon for the manufacture of Shiro Alga Carta. To this day, this same method is used in different parts of the world, where algae are abundant. Shiro Seaweed Letter is the forerunner of a range of sustainable papers. Eco-innovation, which aims to prolong the life of resources and reduce the use of virgin raw materials, without compromising aesthetic and technical benefits. Its print quality makes it ideal for any creative, editorial or packaging project. It is recyclable, biodegradable and has the CO2 neutral certification, which guarantees zero carbon dioxide emissions, and it also comes in a wide range of weights from 90 to 350 grams, with matching envelopes.

In this set of ranges of environmental papers, there is also Shiro Echo Raw, as a natural extension of the Shiro Echo range and the Shiro Alga Carta range. It is a high quality 100% post-consumer recycled paper, ideal for sustainable commercial printing and ecological packaging. Shiro Echo Raw is available in black, gray and sand colourways, with a more natural, rough finish to reflect its recycled heritage. Shiro Echo Raw is recyclable, biodegradable and FSC certified.

Another very new range is Crush. Made with 40% post-consumer recycling and 15% agricultural waste, it avoids the use of virgin cellulose from trees. Crush adds residues of citrus, coconut, cocoa, grapes, cherries, lavender, corn, olives, coffee, kiwis, hazelnuts or almonds, natural raw materials used to make these distinctive and vivid papers.

Finally, this sampler includes Remake. A role that stands out for using waste from the leather manufacturing process, being an example of "up-cycling", which consists of taking advantage of by-products and waste, which have not been destroyed to generate energy or compost, but are reused for create new products. The main objective of “up-cycling” is to reuse as much as possible all the waste we generate. Remake substitutes 25% virgin cellulose for leather waste. In addition to all this, it is 100% recyclable, biodegradable and is perfectly suited to printing and luxury packaging. The residues appear on the surface giving a differential appearance and a soft and velvety touch.
