Press Release

Albéa, Origins, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) and Sabic, a world leader in the chemical industry, have strategically partnered to bring to market a recycled tube. Albéa will leverage its experience using advanced recycled resins to provide Origins with a high-performance tube comprised of a certified polymeric resin manufactured using Sabic's certified circular polyethylene and polypropylene recycling technology.

Stephane barlet, Vice President of Sales for Albéa Americas, explains: «This development with Origins, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) and Sabic is a pioneer in the industry, paving the way for the use of advanced post-consumer recycled waste in prestigious beauty packaging thanks to an innovative source of high quality resins. This co-development also highlights the importance of partnership and boldness throughout the value chain, which is crucial to accelerating the transition to recyclable and reusable packaging.

Committed to protecting the environment and determined to manufacture increasingly responsible packaging, Albéa was the first cosmetic packaging manufacturer to sign the Ellen McArthur Foundation's New Plastic Economy Global Pledge in October 2018. This firm commits to Albéa to ensure that 100% of its packaging is recyclable or reusable by 2025 and to incorporate 1% of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins into its portfolio.

In keeping with ELC's sustainable packaging goals, which include increasing the amount of post-consumer recycled (PCR) material in its packaging, the strategic partnership will reinforce Origins' efforts to ensure that at least 80% of its packaging is recyclable, refillable. , reusable, recycled or recoverable by 2023.
