DS Smith and Krones join forces to launch ECO Carrier, an alternative to shrink film

D. S. Smith collaborates with the supplier of machinery and packaging systems Crowns to create ECO Carrier, a fiber-based alternative to shrink film for PET multipack bottles. 

Unveiled at the Drinktec trade fair in Munich from September 12-16, ECO Carrier can be implemented with Krones' machining system for its LitePac Top range, which applies sustainable packaging solutions for PET bottles. The system uses corrugated cardboard ties to hold the PET bottles together and is particularly suitable for a range of bottles from 1L to 1,5L, in 2×2 or 3×2 multipacks.
