carton for hot drink

SIG has received the Breakthrough Food Technology Award en Gulfood Manufacturing 2022 its Heat&Go packaging.

The segment of Hot beverages, in particular, has so far been an untapped market for carton packs. But the demand for hot breakfast drinks and other beverages that are easy to heat at home or at work for immediate consumption and on the go has been on the rise. To this end, SIG has developed the Heat&Go aseptic packaging material.

Aseptic carton packs using this packaging material can be heated in the microwave. Heat&Go replaces the foil layer found on the inside of standard aseptic carton structures with a high-barrier alternative that allows you to heat drinks in the microwave without compromising the quality of the product.

Abdelghany Eladib, president and general manager of the Middle East and Africa region of SIG, stated: “We are extremely pleased to achieve this recognition from industry peers. SIG has been working tirelessly with its partners and customers to bring to market innovative food and beverage packaging solutions that raise the bar on convenience, sustainability, quality, safety, and affordability, and are produced in smarter factories. that can track and measure the journey of our products to achieve these goals. Our research and development has opened up new opportunities for the industry to come up with safer and more convenient aseptic packaging solutions, designed specifically with the modern consumer in mind.”
