Read has announced a project for the cessation of activity in its paper machine number 4 of the condat factory (Le Lardin St Lazare, France) which produces 2-sided coated paper, due to the sharp drop in the graphic paper market. The reorganization project has been announced to the workers' representatives and on which they will be consulted.

Lecta plans to completely focus the Condat plant on the production of special papers, glassine and coated 1 side, in paper machine No. 8, in which it has invested through a reconversion in 2021.

In addition, Lecta is currently investing in a waste-fired boiler to provide a more cost-competitive energy solution for the MP8 and reduce the carbon footprint of the plant by reducing CO2 emissions, in line with the strategy and Lecta's sustainability goals. The waste fuel boiler will be operational by mid-2024.
