Bormioli Luigi

Faithful to its approach of sustainable innovation, Bormioli Luigi invests in the entire production chain, even in the latest decoration techniques. Its Parma workshop has recently incorporated new equipment dedicated to sputtering. This surface treatment, in addition to the benefits of metallization, offers total control of the application of metal for glass which is 100% recyclable.

La sputtering It is similar to vacuum metallization. It offers the product the same shine and resistance to shocks, scratches and fluids. However, the sputtering technique consists of applying the decoration in a vacuum through a physical process very different from metallization. The chosen metal (steel, gold, silver or copper, for example) is transformed with gas and deposited on the surface of the bottle in the form of microfragments, allowing the thickness to be determined for minimal impact. But its main objective is to offer glass that remains transparent, making it detectable in recycling streams, thus guaranteeing recyclability.

Bormioli Luigi has chosen to invest in this decoration process historically used for plastic containers.
