These projects will mean income of 4.957.214 euros for the center and the consolidation of ITENE as a leading research center. 8 projects are part of the 7 Framework Program, 4 within the European funds for research in small and medium-sized companies (R4S and R4A) and 2 more within the Life Program of the European Union. Currently, ITENE exercises the technical direction of ISA-Pack, a three-year European research project, funded by the 7th Framework Program of the European Commission, to develop smart, sustainable and active packaging for fresh food. The goal is to increase the life of the product and reduce waste. On the other hand, Marta Lara, a researcher at ITENE, won the award for the best poster presented at the "2nd International Meeting on Interaction between product and packaging biomaterials", held at the Dijon Institute of Technology (France), entitled "Analysis of contaminants in composted cardboard and quality criteria for safe composting ”.
