FM Logistics is one of the 10 companies that have constituted the Green Hydrogen Cluster of Castilla-La Mancha, an initiative that was born with the idea of promoting the strategic development of green hydrogen technology and of positioning the Autonomous Community at national and European level as a reference in this renewable energy.
They are part of this Cluster, in addition to FM Logistic: Adix Ingenieria SL; Cojali SL; Iberdrola SA; the Castilla-La Mancha Metal Technological Center; Tecnove SL; Zirtando Innovation; High Innovation Real Estate; Cobra Gestión de Infraestructuras SA, and the National Hydrogen Center.
The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has also joined this project. The regional president, Emiliano García-Page, yesterday signed the accession of Castilla-La Mancha in the framework of a meeting that took place in the Palacio de Fuensalida, and which was attended by representatives of the group of companies that are part of this Cluster, including Pablo Gomez, CEO of FM Logistic Iberia.
The regional Administration participates as an institutional member in this association, whose objective is that the companies that have constituted it, plus those that could be incorporated, represent all the links of the industrial value chain of green hydrogen; contributing to the energy transition of Castilla-La Mancha.
"Sustainability and renewable energy are a priority for FM Logistic", says Pablo Gómez. In this sense, "for years we have been carrying out and promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy actions and projects in our centers, including on the platform that FM Logistic has in Castilla-La Macha, Illescas (Toledo)".
Its Illescas platform is an emblem of sustainability in the logistics sector and is LEED Gold certified.
Recently, the company announced that in 2021 the company will be able to certify that 100% of the electrical energy consumed in its logistics centers and offices will be from renewable sourcess. To this end, it has unified the electricity supplies at its facilities.
These certificates of origin are regulated by the National Markets and Competition Commission through order ITC 2914/2011 and have meant that in 2019 FM Logistic already reduced the emission into the atmosphere by 222 tons of CO 2.
Since 2018, FM Logistic already had this supply of clean energy in its Illescas Logistics Platform (Toledo).
Energy audits in Toledo and Guadalajara
On the other hand, FM Logistic Ibérica carried out the energy audits in its logistics centers in Illescas (Toledo) and Cabanillas del Campo Guadalajara. These audits are carried out in compliance with Royal Decree 56/2016, which transposes the European Directive 2012/27 / EU on energy efficiency.
The results obtained in the Illescas Logistics Platform are especially noteworthy. In this center, an annualized consumption indicator of only 23 kWh / m2, much lower than the average for other logistics centers, a reference that is around 150 kWh / m2.
