Goliath P84-18, the new solution for the transport and packaging of watermelons from Smufit Kappa

April 16th 2019

Smurfit Kappa has presented a new packaging model for watermelons called "Smurfit Kappa Goliath" within the P84 family, with new features that respond to various specific problems that arise when packing this large and heavy fruit.

The new Goliath P84-18 improves loading and stacking efficiency since it is capable of absorbing the deformation caused by the weight of the fruit and is provided with a canopy that contains the bottom flexion and some anchors designed to improve the stability of the loads. Likewise, it allows a better grip by arranging the handles at a point that does not interfere with the product. Streamline distribution, minimize empty warehouse spaces, eliminate subsidence claims and reduce fall incidents to virtually zero.

To the above, it is added that Goliath P84-18 improves the ventilation and conservation of the fruit and guarantees better food safety and hygiene, by transmitting less bacterial contamination. In addition, it allows companies to reinforce their image since it supports the printing of images, logos and important texts such as appellations of origin.
