La Alliance for the Competitiveness of the Spanish Industry -constituted by ANFAC, AOP, ASPAPEL, FEIQUE, FIAB, OFICEMEN and UNESID- expresses its solidarity with all those affected by the current health crisis. In addition, it reiterates its desire for a near end to the pandemic, as well as a speedy economic recovery that contributes to the well-being and prosperity of Spanish society.
In relation to the Royal Decree-Law approved by the Spanish Government, the Alliance applauds that the Executive has decided to adopt measures that contribute to alleviating the problems that the COVID-19 epidemic is already causing to society as a whole, to families and to companies and wants to urge you to adopt all the necessary measures so that the health crisis we are all fighting against does not end up turning into a serious economic crisis that can have a devastating effect on society as a whole.
“It is time for all economic operators and, of course, the social agents and business associations that make up the Alliance to support the government in the fight to overcome the serious health crisis while maintaining, as far as possible, the current circumstances, economic activity in our country. Our companies, within the scope of their responsibilities, contribute their grain of sand to this collective task: they have organized remote work for those workers who can perform it and are collaborating with the health authorities in the best possible management of the work centers, redoubling the sanitation and disinfection activities, taking care that all the personnel in its facilities, both its own and those of collaborating companies, have the individual protection equipment (PPE) they need to carry out their work. The industry is making rational and responsible use of temporary employment regulation files, waiting to resume its activity and recover the level of employment prior to the health crisis. Our prevention services collaborate actively and loyally with the health authorities in the process, which concerns everyone, of overcoming the epidemic in our country.
The Alliance has transmitted to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism some proposals that they consider necessary regarding the scope and content of the Royal Decree-Law, offering to maintain and if possible reinforce their collaboration with the authorities so that some issues are clarified in the standard application process.
Finally, he wants to state that Spanish industry, which is socially responsible, is doing everything possible to maintain industrial activity, within the logical limitations derived from the situation, meeting, where appropriate, the demands for goods that are essential for society in these areas. moments, in addition to intensifying the dialogue with the representatives of the workers, "convinced as we are, that Spain needs its industry as the main engine of progress and prosperity of our society."
