The Day of the Dead is a legendary Mexican celebration with more than 200 years of history. It is celebrated on November 2 every year and has become a national symbol. During these days, it is believed that the dead return to Earth to celebrate with the living, celebrating life and remembering their loved ones with joy. Streets, homes and public places are filled with beautiful decorations, such as the iconic marigold flower and skulls. This is to encourage the deceased to pay a visit. Families build altars, called ofrendas, with photos and mementos, masks and costumes are worn, and delicious food and drink, and of course, tequila, are available in honor of the dead.
