The ADI Awards, the great national design event, include the ADI Culture Award

February 1th 2016

The Industrial Design Association ADI-FAD organizes the ADI Awards 2016, that recognize the product, the talent of the students and the support for the culture of the design. The deadline to submit to the ADI Awards ends on February 11.

The ADI Awards combine the Delta Awards and ADI Medals, awarded between 1961 and 1976, and the new ADI Culture Award. The new name brings together different recognitions in different areas of design and, for the first time, includes an award dedicated to paying tribute to the culture of design.

The ADI Culture Award is a great novelty on the national scene, since its objective is to reflect the psyche of design, praising it beyond objects and reaching the dissemination of discourse, processes, events, exhibitions, installations, websites, documentaries or other expressions that delve into the conceptualization of design and that delve into the experimental field, research and innovation.

In the Project category, a specific project carried out in the last five years will be awarded, while in the Career category, the ADI Culture award aims to pay tribute to those people or entities that, due to their work, their work and their influence on the world of design, have contributed to the evolution of the discipline and its integration into society.

The Jury that will award the Delta Award 2016 stands out for its independent and international character, with great figures from the world of design, such as Jasper Morrison- London designer who works for the best international companies, and who will be the president of the jury-, Mathias Schwartz- Clauss -director of Domaine de Boisbuchet, a school and experimental design center located in France-, Jeannette Alther -of the well-known Lievore Altherr Molina studio-, Xavier Costa, general director of Lékué, and Gracia Cardona, president of ADI-FAD and director by Diario Design. They will award a Gold Delta and several Silver Delta.

The jury for the ADI Culture Awards will be made up of Viviana Narotzky, Raquel Pelta and José Luis de Vicente. They will award an award for the Project category and another for the Career category.

The jury's decision and the awards ceremony will take place in June 2016, within the FADfest, the design festival organized in Barcelona.

The rules of the ADI Awards can be consulted on the web awards.adifad.org.
